Jeremy Clarkson has made his view clear on proposed farming policies as he didn't hold back while criticising Labour’s “daft” plans.
The Clarkson’s Farm and The Grand Tour star has hit out at plans for Welsh Government's Sustainable Farming Scheme (SFS) on social media, hilariously pointing out to one misinformed social media user who the party responsible is.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the 63-year-old fumed: “I’m trying to see the Welsh farming policy from the government’s point of view. And I just can’t. It’s completely daft.”
Responding to the post, one of Clarkson’s X followers replied directly to say: “The Tories would rather give money to traders importing food than pay our farmers what their produce is worth. It’s sick.”
“Er. I think you’ll find that Wales has a Labour government,” Clarkson wrote back to correct the X user.
The former Top Gear presenter’s remarks come as the Welsh government is seeing significant backlash to proposals, which are set to take effect in 2025.

The SFS will replace European Union payments to Welsh farms, which have been worth more than £300 million a year.
Welsh rural affairs minister Lesley Griffiths has seen criticism over the move, which is aiming to "safeguard the environment".
Responding to Clarkson’s correction, several others took to the comments section to applaud his stance and join him in blasting the idea.
One wrote: “Serious point. Little is know about the how the developed Parliaments work. Some think it’s all Westminster when it’s their local administration.”

“We are doing our best to get rid of them - but they are about to change the voting setup in Wales which will guarantee a PERMANENT Labour administration (sorry, can’t call them a government, they don’t govern!!)” another fumed.
A third commented: “I think it is time all the devolved assembly's were dissolved, they do nothing for the areas they are supposed to represent and end up costing taxpayers a fortune.”
“Yup and they are not fit for purpose,” a different X user commented.
“They don’t care about anything outside of Cardiff. Apart from making everywhere 20mph to get more money in speeding fines,” someone else argued.

Another fan remarked: “Are we not past point of realizing that there are more similarities between political parties than differences? Neither operating with its subjects/ citizens best interests in mind.” (sic)
Meanwhile, others called for Clarkson to make a take a stand himself, with one writing: “Start a political party. You have the star power to make it popular.”
Clarkson is often vocal about his take on various political matters and doesn't hold back when it comes to issues affecting farming.
Since launching his popular documentary series Clarkson's Farm in 2021, in which he attempts to run a 1,000-acre farm, the presenter has spoken out against various policies affecting British agriculture he disagrees with.
